Cricket

Paddy from Canterbury Sports came to our school on Tuesday 27th of November to teach us cricket. We played games that improved our batting and catching skills. It was a good way for us to learn new things and keep fit. It was also good for them because they could promote the sport by making more kids interested in it, so they might play it when they are older. He also told us the name of the New Zealand teams. Male team is Black Caps and Female team is White Ferns. Here are some images Mrs Hahn took.

Knights & Ladies

On Wednesday we had Mrs Meikle teaching our class. She read us a book about knights and ladies, and then we had to make a presentation about knights and ladies. We had to do some research on knights, jousting and ladies. Here is my slideshow.

Wringer Scene

In class, we are reading a book called Wringer by Jerry Spinelli. It is about a boy named Palmer who lives in a town where there is an annual pigeon shooting day to raise money for the park. He joins a group of kids named The Guys, and they torment the girl who lives across the street. Her name is Dorothy but they call her Fish face. We had to make videos about one of the scenes in the book, and my group did the scene where The Guys bomb Dorothy with snowballs on their way to school.Next time I would like to have a go at using Green Screen to get a snowy background.

In room 6 we made videos about a chosen activity in athletics. My group chose long jump. In the video we had to give pointers on what to do and not to do. Here is the slideshow
